You may be wondering why our club should have a website.  After all, we haven't relied on our website in the past and our club has been doing well.  On page 12 of the current issue of "Rotarian" , Rotary International provides some answers in an article by Sophia Dembling titled, "5 Reasons to Get Your Club Online"
Sophia Dembling states: "Forty percent of Rotary clubs still don't have a website."  The following are the 5 reasons she cites for clubs to go online:

1. Visiting Rotarians can find you.
2. It gets the news out.
3. Every member can become a PR expert. (They spread the word by sending an email link to our website to prospects and friends)
4. It allows for creative recruiting.  (RI says: "We have noted that the clubs with the best sites are also the clubs that have the best member recruitment and retention.")
5. Members can network effectively.   Members also get to know each other better because our website has a photo directory.

Not mentioned in this article is the fact that  our website can have sponsors.  The board is currently developing our policy and fees for sponsorships by members and outside businesses.  This source of income can pay for the website, and also provide income for our club's projects.  This is a win-win benefit.
