Last Saturday, RB Sunrise Rotary held its annual Reverse Opportunity Drawing Dinner.  Through all the hard work of all of the members who helped with this Fun Raiser, the project was a success.
RB Sunrise's Fun Raiser was held at the Boy's and Girl's Club in 4S Ranch on Saturday May 5, 2009  The party began at 6:00 with a social time with catered from Bret Geernaert's restaurant. Ticket drawing began around 7:30.  There was a auction of unsold tickets after the first 100 ticket were drawn.  This bidding was spirited and additional funds were raised when quite a few tickets were sold in this way. When the drawing reached the final four tickets, the remaining ticket holders decided to end the drawing and split the $5000 grand prize.  Each also agreed to contribute to the Rotary Foundation.  The winning consortium members were Patricia Moffat, Allison Farrin, Mark Burdette and Jim Roth.

Paul Sullivan, who will next year's treasurer, sold the most tickets at 11 tickets, with Nazrin Barbee, president elect  a close second at 9 tickets.

Gordy Erickson, chairmen of the event committee, reports that in preliminary totals, ten more tickets than last year were sold. Despite the difficult economic times, around $8000 was raised.  Because more checks for this Fun Raiser are still being received, the final total is not available, but the committee was bouyed up by the success of the event.  The funds raised in this event will help RB Sunrise fund additional projects and services in the Rancho Bernardo Community.
