RB Sunrise Rotary Honors Abraxas Student of the Month

As part of its ongoing partnership with Abraxas High School, the Rancho Bernardo Sunrise Rotary Club announced their Student Of The Month award for January and February 2011 at their recent breakfast meeting. For the month of January, student Veronica Vallin was the recipient, while for February Linda Villanueva was presented with the award, accompanied by her teacher Jabette Caterina.
“It was a no-brainer to pick Linda! She has overcome so much, recovered all of her credits, and wants to become a pediatric nurse,” stated teacher Jabette Caterina. Linda, who was very excited to receive the award commented, “I’d like to thank you and the Abraxas team because going there really helped me overcome everything I was going through.”
Given the expanding programs at Abraxas and their success at cutting their dropout rate by fifty percent, it’s quite apparent they’re doing something right over there.
Veronica and Linda were treated as VIPs by the 65 professional members of the RB Sunrise Rotary Club. Both were given a gift certificate and an award in honor of her achievement.
