The Rancho Bernardo Sunrise Rotary makes it a practice to regularly contribute money to scouting, knowing, in the words of past club president Carl Kruse; “The future of our society is in the hands of these young men and women.” This year, the RB Sunrise Rotary Club gave $750 to support both a local daisy and brownie troop.

The Brownie troop, of which McKenna Dugdale is a member, plans to use the funding to visit the Helen Woodward Animal Shelter and fulfil a badge requirement. In addition to learning about animal care and the process of preparing animals for adoption, they will also make a donation to support the adoption of a pet whose progress they will track over the coming months.

While Cassidy Dugdale's Daisy troop is still determining how to best utilize the money, in the past they have used the Rotary donation to adopt five foster teens over the holidays. Last year they purchased all the items on their adopted teens' holiday wish lists, and are sure to find a great project to participate in this year as well.

It is truly great to see these young Girl Scouts being active members of their community. The RB Sunrise Rotary Club was proud to be able to support these local troops, and will continue to grow this relationship in the future.
