BEERnardo Update
At last week's board meeting, Susan Marsh presented preliminary financials for our BEERnardo Event. With additional sponsorship and other fund sources still outstanding, it is clear that we topped the amount of money raised last year. Attendance was also up this year.
Significantly, there were no glitches that could have been noticed by any of our guests. The VIP area was also well received and our BEERnardo steering committee is already considering how to make the VIP experience even better. The band was also well received and will probably be back next year.
It will be several weeks before final results are known. However, because we know that the results for funds already collected, our club can now make plans to fund the support for the projects and donate to the varies charities that our club supports here in San Diego and internationally.
News
Because the RB Community Thanksgiving Luncheon has been moved to the Friday before Thanksgiving (Nov 16), there will be a regular club meeting on Tuesday, Nov 20.
Our holiday party is coming up in December so watch for your invitation as plans are finalized.
In January, our club again will again hosting a dinner for the incoming district governors who will be attending the Rotary International Assembly training in San Diego. We will be using the same caterer, but we will be at a different venue. This dinner has always been a special event for our club because we get to learn about what other districts are doing and see that Service Above Self is a universal commitment in the world of Rotary.
