The member assigned to Who Am I is also responsible for providing the positive thought at the beginning of the meeting and introducing visiting Rotarians and guests.
The member assigned to Cheer for Rotary is the assigned Greeter for that day and also is tasked with selling opportunity drawing tickets.
Lsst week's speaker was Jeff Shea. Jeff told us about the Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation. RBCFGrants 2015/2016 Grant Cycle Community Impact. The Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation is in its 27th year of grantmaking to groups in Rancho Bernardo. The Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation gave grants totaling $67,000 to more than 20 local nonprofits and school programs for the upcoming year. This occurred at the annual Thanksgiving Luncheon in November 2014. Part of the actions of the RBCF is tracking the use of its grants to insure that the money is spent in the manner that was intended.

One of the programs of the RBCF is Hats Off to Volunteers. Jeff made the point that our community is enriched by countless volunteers whose efforts often go unheralded, but their faithful services makes it possible for others in the community to have a better place to live. The recognition dinner for this program was held on April 25, 2015. A verteran vollunteer from our club, Nasrin Barbee, was one of those honored. Beside being a very busy professional architect, Naz makes time to volunteer for many projects in Rancho Bernardo. It is a fact that when there is a need for volunteers in our club, Naz can usually be seen as one of the first to step up. Our congratulations to Naz for this very appropriate recognition !
Health Fair in Tijuana
Our sister club in Tijuana, Mexico, Club Rotario Tijuana Milleneo Minarete, is holding a health fair this coming Saturday, May 16. We have been invited to participate in this health fair. President Karen will make an announcement about this and send a signup sheet around for those who would lke to have an opportunity to help with an international project and yet be home the same day. A reminder to all that a passport is necessary to return to the United States. Several of us have participated in this in the past and it is a great way to experience the hospitality of our friends across the border. Once they know how many of us will be coming they will pick us up at the border and take us to the health fair so we don't have to worry about driving in Mexico or finding our way around.
