l-r: RB Sunrise Pres. Paul Gorman, RB AAUW Pres. Irene Dunny, Pat Armstrong, RB Tech Trek Coordinator and Bob Davie, Vocational Service Chair
On Tuesday March 27 RB Sunrise Rotary Club officially announced its support of the AAUW San Diego's Tech Trek Science Camp when it donated $1800 to RB AAUW. On hand to accept this donation was Pat Armstrong, the RB AAUW Tech Trek Coordinator and Irene Dunny, President of RB AAUW Branch.
Tech Trek is a week long science camp held at UC San Diego each summer. The purpose of this camp is to introduce seventh grade girls to career opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Classes and field trips to local businesses where women are employed in such fields as medicine, engineers, oceanography, and architecture give the girls first hand information about the opportunities for their talents in fields that they otherwise would not possibly consider. Over the years, AAUW has been able to demonstrate that the classes successfully influence girls to enter the STEM fields for their careers.

Mexico House Build Coming Up
Great News! Project P-1889 has been fully pledged and the April 21, 2018 house build #2 is a GO! The Del Mar Rotary club contributed towards this project and will be participating in the house build along with our club. From what my contact at the Del Mar club has told me is that they have a pretty good amount of interested members who want to participate.
I have again reserved Jim Hughes' 15 passenger van from our district 5340, for the house build. The pick-up point on Saturday is at the Park n Ride off the 15 at Scripps Poway Parkway at 5:45 - 6:00am. Please check your inbox for the recent email with all of the details of this event.
