Our first meeting of the new calendar year is tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan 5, 2016. We will be treated to a short singing recital by Emily Weinberg. She is studying vocal music in college and will appear at our meeting before returning to school. Last year we all enjoyed her singing and we can look forward to her visit tomorrow.
We have a busy January. The Rotary Peace conference will be held in Ontario, California in 2 weeks. This will be followed immediately by the Rotary International Assembly here in San Diego. The International Assembly is a mandatory training event that brings all District Governor Elects to San Diego every year.
RB Sunrise will again host District Governor Elects and their spouses at Peter Meisen's offices in San Diego. Plan to attend this event on Wed, Jan 20. Because Peter can project information on screens around the room, we get a chance to learn about what Rotary districts in multiple places in the world are doing. Other clubs in our district will be hosting these visiting incomng district governors. Our event has been well received for several years because of the unique capability of Peter Meisen's facility.
Our Rotary year is already half over and our club has made progress. Hope everyone had a great holiday. We have some exciting things to look forward to in this new year.
