Our Marine visitors in front of the toys our club donated

Two Marines visited us on Dec 11 to collect the toys our club donated.  Congratulation to Sue Herndon and her assistant, Kim Muslusky.  Kim says she had fun making trips to the toy store to purchase toys with the funds donated by our members. Sue has been spearheading this program for at least 10 years.  It is one of the ways our members contribute to our community.

RB Chorale Visits to Entertain Us

Members of the RB Chorale came to our meeting and presented an enjoyable holiday program including a singalong.  One of their songs was an adaptation of Jingle Bells that they perform at the Safari Park.  It is tells the audience that many animals are digitigrade in that they stand and run on their toes. Digitigrade animals include elephants, cats and dogs

At the end of their program, President Mike Moffat and President-elect Bret Geernaert presented a check for $500 to RB Chorale Director, Pat Bean.  The donated funds will be used for their scholarship fund.

The RB Chorale is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is:

  • to bring the gift of song to our community.
  • Lift the spirits of our audiences and each other.
  • Raise monies for graduating high school seniors who wish to continue their pursuit of a musical education at an academic institution of higher learning.

Harold Dokmo is now at home after an 11 day hospitalization and surgery for an intestinal blockage.  This was a second surgery for this problem because the first surgery was not successful.  Harold has caregivers 24/7 during this phase of his recovery.  Visitors probably is not a good idea at this time, but cards would be welcome.

Steve Sayler had surgery and is recovering.
