Speakers through April

The programs for meetings through to the end of April are now listed on our club website.  Andy Patapow is our speaker guru.  He does a great job, but he needs your help.  I you are aware now or hear a good speaker in the future, please get that speaker's contact information and get it to Andy so he can schedule that speaker for the rest of us to hear.

Membership News

Demerie Hill is still "deployed" overseas with her job.  She has requested a leave of absence until summer which will be a board meeting agenda item next week.

Peter Shusterman completed his blue badge conversion recently and Tracey Van Putten will complete her requirements for blue badge by attending the District 5340 Training Assembly.

I have heard that Scott Lawn and his son are submitting applications to both become members.

If you are going to be on Alison's board of directors, you really should attend the District 5340 Training Seminar on March 21 at the Joan Kroc Center for Peace and Justice on the USD campus.  Beside learning things that will help you in your role with our club, attending this meeting will allow you to meet with Rotairians from around our district.  By the way, the club will pay the $25 fee for you to attend.  You need to go to the District 5340 website to register by March 19 --- when you get to the registration page that asks how you will be paying, indicate that the payment will be by check which the club will supply for you.

Rotarians at Work April 25, 2015

Save this date!  Our club will be participating in this project again this year.  Rotarians at work is a project that began here in San Diego when a former district governor,  the late Bob Watson, promoted the idea that Rotarians in our district would all be doing a community project on the same day --- the last Saturday in April.  Since that early beginning, with the promotional effort and encouragement of Jim Roth and others, this project has spread to many other districts around the world.

The projects are usually only on that Saturday morning, so you will have the rest of the day free.  Make a point to attend this fun event and work with your fellow RB Sunrisers in a joint effort to make a difference in our San Diego community. Details about what project(s) we will be doing will be announced in the near future.
