Past President Karen Mortimer did a great job last week filling in for President Craig Brown. Instead of the scheduled club assembly, we were able to focus on our upcoming fundraising event. The radio spot is running and the banners are up on streetlight poles in RB. There was a great article in the RB Journal this week as well.

Everything is lining up for a great community event that can grow to be a part of the calendar of RB signature events like as RB Alive! Congratulations to Gordy Ericson, Bill Chaffin, Mark Berdan, Tracey van Putten, Mike Moffat, and Susan Marsh for all the hard work.

We also welcomed back Sue Herndon. She shared her passion about Jack O Smash, a fun fundraiser in Poway. She shared that she is will be continuing all of her efforts for the many community organizations she supports even as she turns over her real estate business to her son.

Miramar Semper Fi Rotary Fundraiser

MIRAMAR SEMPER FIDELIS ROTARY CLUB SIXTH ANNUAL

POINSETTIA FUNDRAISER

The Miramar Semper Fidelis Rotary Club is holding its Sixth AnnualPoinsettia Fundraiser. In an effort to make this event a success, we are calling upon our "Rotary Friends" in San Diego to participate.

We are selling beautiful 14.5 to 16.5-inch tall multi-bloom Holiday Red or White Poinsettia plants in 6.5-inch pots with a gold foil sleeve. If you sell a minimum of 13 boxes (104 plants), your Rotary Club/Partnering non-profit receives $24 per box. If you sell 26 boxes (208 plants), your Rotary Club/Partnering non-profit receives $32 per box.

Orders to be submitted by November 15, 2016. Completed order forms with checks or cash need to be submitted to MSFRC.

Donation: $100 per box (8 plants, one color, per box)

(Checks payable to Miramar Semper Fidelis Rotary Foundation and collected at time of order. PayPal also available at happybucks.org.)

Each participant is responsible for picking up and delivering the plants to their customers. Pick up is on:

BEERnardo Sponsorship drive is here!!

Last week, Gordy sent the Sponsorship Form and event Fact Sheet to you. Click the links below to get the Sponsorship Tools.

One tool is a "cover letter" that you can customize by adding your contacts name and address (open and look at it!! You will see what I mean) for all your friends, family members, neighbors & business owners in the area that you are emailing or mailing the sponsorship requests to.

Other tools are two versions of the "Sponsorship Form" and event "Fact Sheet" for you - one is both documents combined into (1) 3-page document, and then in case you want to print some - the same documents are attached a two separate documents. (Just in case you lost that last email)

Our goal is to raise $75,000+ this year. That is 50% more than last year. We have more Rotarians this year than last year, and the event has growing momentum... With the event being moved to Webb Park we will be establishing a phenomenal annual event for our community. It should be easier than ever for you to bring in those Sponsors!!

Remember, the best way to get more sponsors is to ASK. In person and by phone, you never know which one of the people you interact with each day is just waiting for the opportunity to participate.
