RB Sunrise Rotary to Host Social Event for Incoming District Governors
Every January, San Diego is privileged to host the Rotary International International Assembly. All district governors from around the world who are scheduled to lead their districts beginning July 1, 2017 must attend this international assembly. On Jan 18, 2017, RB Sunrise will host a social event for a total of 24 visiting DGE's (12 DGE's and their spouses.
In the past, we have hosted our guests at Peter Meisen's office in San Diego. However, Peter no longer has an office in San Diego. This year our event will be at Meridian Condominiums at 700 Front Street. This is within easy walking distance for our guests, so no tranportation will needed for them. However, you will need to sign up so that Paul Gorman can notify the Meridian Condominium staff so that free parking can be arranged.
In addition to members from our club, Paul has invited members of our sister club in Mexico to to attend. They will be invaluable in making our Spanish speaking guests relax.
We will learn more details about this at our meeting on Jan 10.
Membership Update
Our club is growing. At our meeting we are scheduled to induct 2 new members - Jeb Bakke and Kevin Paulson. Jeb is a former member who is rejoining our club. This will increase our membership to 63 active and 6 honorary members. I don't recall that our club has been this large at any time in the past.
