The Rotary Club of Rancho Bernardo Sunrise and The Church at Rancho Bernardo partnered with The Outreach Program on Saturday March 11 to package 12,000 high-protein meals to be donated to the North County Food Bank in Vista and the Thousand Smiles Foundation.
Nearly 50 volunteers worked together on a hands-on assembly-line style project, reaching our goal of 12,000 meals in less than 2 hours. The nutrient-dense, shelf-stable, protein-rich, and easy to prepare meals are formulated in collaboration with Iowa State University’s Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition.
