Important Update on District 5340 Youth Protection Policy A few days ago, Dale Long sent out an update to the information he presented at last week's meeting. Youth Protection Certifications must be in process before the end of December 2017. Here is what Dale sent in his email to everyone: Per District Governor Carr the new test must be completed by 12-31-2017 to be certified. That is different from what I had read and shared with you. If you have any contact with youth in any of our programs, I encourage you to take action on this now. I am available anytime at 619-992-9272 or dlong1@san.rr.com. I will be available after every club meeting through the end of the year until we get this new program understood and certified. See you Tuesday, Dale Alison Farrin has sent a request for aid to the grooms at San Luis Rey Downs Please check you email for the information about the items that you can bring to the club meeting tomorrow to assist the grooms at San Luis Rey Downs who lost housing due to the Lilac fire. International Assembly Hosting Again this year our club will be hosting District Governor Elects who are in San Diego for the mandatory training at the Rotary International Assembly. The International Assembly will be held at the San Diego Manchester Grand Hyatt during the week of Jan 14 - Jan 20. Look for details as plans are made. This is a great opportunity to meet and learn first hand what Rotary is doing in other districts around the world. Event Photos If you have photos from the Holiday Party and/or the Craft Fair at Valley Elementary School, please send them to me at: jdunny1@me.com. I would like to make an album on our club website for both of these events. Photos of any club event are also welcome at any time. Thank you for your help. Jim Dunny Profile Information Update Twice a year, Rotary International requires that membership databases be updated. The current deadline is Dec 31, 2017. This information verification is needed because Rotary International sets this deadline so that it can publish printed and CD digital directories in early 2018. Please log on to the club website and review your profile information. Our club records are only as accurate as you assist in the process. Please review your contact information, especially your email address. Your email address is important because it is the primary way that our club and District 5340 can keep you informed of important Rotary information. By updating your information on our club website, you will also be keeping your information on Rotary Internationals membership database current because our club's membership information, the District 5340 membership roster and the Rotary International are linked so that when you update our website, the change is also published to all three databases. Thank you for your help. Jim Dunny Executive Secretary |
