On July 4, 2017, Paul Gorman began his year as president of Rancho Bernardo Sunrise Rotary Club by representing the club in the Spirit of the Fourth Parade. The parade began at 3:30 pm. The parade around the shopping centers on Bernardo Center Drive included a fire engine from Fire Station 33 in Rancho Bernardo, high school bands from Westview, Poway and Rancho Bernardo, political figures and multiple service organizations and a whimsical entry by a group with a converted old ambulance that posed as Ghostbusters vehicle! Paul, representing our club, rode in a 1927 Ford Model T Touring Car, driven by owner, Jim McCleary who was accompanied by his wife. In the photos above, you can see Paul riding comfortably in the back seat. ( He looks quite different from the picture of him at the Demotion Party! There is a link on the club website to a story in the RB News about retired military officers being president of both Rancho Bernardo Rotary clubs. |
