l to r:  Jim Steward and Bob Davie holding award
This year's delayed Demotion Dinner was a fun event.  Thanks to some clever "foreign" guests, we had a lot of clever funny moments.  Demotee Jim awarded special Rotary pins to each of his board members. In a surprise announcement, Bob Davie was awarded a flame trophy as Rotarian of the Year for his service as Community Services Chair.  Bob stepped in and did a great job. The highlight of his service was the School Supply Project that resulted in delivery of several thousand dollars worth of school supplys for Abraxas High School.  The amount of supplies that our club was able to take to Abraxas came at an especially critical time because the supplies replenishe their supply room with supplies that they desperately needed and for which there was to funding in their budget.  The timing of our donation could not been more perfect.  Bob is a leader who shared an idea and then helped us take action. As Rotarians we all need to remember to follow his lead because as Rotarians we are, in fact, community leaders who meet to share ideas and then take action in the many ways we make a difference in Rancho Bernardo and beyond.
